Rosa Bosher’s legacy: The power of creativity.
Rosa Bosher has volunteered at The Home for more than 35 years. Ask her why she wanted to create a legacy at The Virginia Home, and she’ll tell you, it’s really about preserving the legacy of artist Cindy Woods. Woods, who lived at The Home until she died in 2009, was a fiercely independent, talented, brave and curious person. She loved The Virginia Home and considered the people here to be her family. She often ventured away, via excursions in her chair and on trips farther afield. But she always returned to the place where she felt the most comfortable and to the people she held dear, like her friend Rosa Bosher.
“Cindy never focused on her illness; she was always focused on what she could do, “remembers Rosa. “She was a very courageous and determined person.”

Inspired by Cindy and all the residents of The Home, Rosa has remembered The Home in her estate plans. Thanks to gifts like Rosa’s, The Home can continue to encourage creativity in all who live here. By giving beyond their lifetime, Rosa and many others have provided perhaps the greatest security The Virginia Home can have: a share in the accumulated resources of those who see the value in its work.
